Laminate flooring comes in planks that are made up of four layers that have been fused together by a lamination process. The top layer is a wear layer which protects against stain and fading and most have a waterproof sealant as well. The second layer is the design layer which is a picture of real hardwood. Under the design layer is the core followed by the backing layer that creates support and stabilizes the rest of the plank. There are many wood colors to choose from and many include embossing which adds to the appearance and feel of real hardwood.
Although, most laminate is scratch resistant, any nicks or imperfections can be repaired with replacing of that board. The advanced joint system is now better than ever when it comes to water resistance.
Repairs are an easy fix if needed. There is no expanding or contracting, as in hardwood. You can clean this product with many different recommended cleaners. Most of the laminate we carry are waterproof and all of the laminates are pet and kid friendly.
Most laminates usually have a lifetime warranty for residential and 15 year for commercial.
